Several cases of whooping cough have been reported in the canton's child care centers. No case has been reported at L’Isles aux Enfants child care center.

In this context, we would like to remind you of some important information that can limit the risk of infection transmission.

The whooping cough is a contagious disease that includes symptoms as a persistent cough, coughing fits, breathing difficulties and vomiting. It is transmitted by droplets of saliva released when a patient sneezes, talks or coughs. It is benign in most cases but may have serious consequences on infants under 6 months and pregnant women.

As a precaution, we invite you to verify the vaccination status of your child and your family to ensure that you are protected. It isn’t necessary at this stage to provide us with a copy of your child’s vaccination records.

Should you detect any symptoms such as coughing, shivers or fever in the next days, we recommend that you consult your pediatrician and kindly ask you to inform us, so that we can take the necessary measures.
